2013 HOLYWEEK AT ANAWANGIN COVE, CAPONES & CAMARA ISLANDS

I thought the Anawangin Cove, given no commercial or resort developments, will escape the volume of long week-end holiday-tourists but even so, every corner was filled with camps... Yep, people young and aged, mountaineers or elite alike, flocked together to escape the Metro for awhile and have a quality time with family and friends.

As compared to the White Beach of PuertoGalera, where we spent our Year 2012 Holy Week, there was no partying, bar hopping and loud music at Anawangin.  And most importantly, the locals didn’t take advantage of the volume of tourists by increasing rates... Yep, rates remained the same. And to complete the night, the picture of the full moon seems an open invitation for a deep night howl.

On our next day, we toured the neighboring islands of Capones and Camara.  At Capones Island, aside from the famous lighthouse, we found beauty underneath... It houses a beautiful seabed filled with colorful fishes - an area great for snorkeling even for shallow diving.  The sight of purple fishes and fishes of different sizes enjoying the mini cove beneath was far better than those of aquarium set-ups.

I always favored lesser mass but this time... in fairness, I enjoyed the sight of the crowd.  Until next time...

  1. ;-) siguro yung mga crowd na yun iisa lang din ang hinahanap ang solemnity ng place and as you mentioned to escape the metro ;-)
