This was a clean-up drive organized by DENR-Bahanaw PAWB held last October 2009.  We were invited through the Alliance for a Cleaner Earth group.  Our group was assigned to do clean-up from the Cristalino trail up the Suplina falls.

Banahaw has been closed to hikers for several years already.  The effect was already visible with the growth of new trees.  Maybe another year will helped nature to revive itself fully.

My last Mt. Banahaw summit was in February of 2009.  It was an induction of my school-based mountaineering club.  We ascended through the Cristalino trail then descended through Tatlong Tangke trail.  It was a 3-day climb and our first night was spent at Kweba ng Dios Ama.  Then the second night at  ikatlong dungaw (3rd viewpoint) campsite.  It was also my first “major” climb and the memories still gives me awe.  The steep and narrow trail after the Kweba ng Dios Ama and the long trek down at the Tatlong Tangke are truly unforgetable.  Looking forward to summit this giant mountain again...
