Along the trail, we saw signs of tree planting activities and online blogs says that every climber are required to plant a tree. I was actually expecting and willing to the same but maybe because it was summer time, the project was on hold.
The freak summer weather that we recently
experienced in the Metro also happened at Mt. Talamitam. We encountered thunderstorm
during summer and in the middle of the day. With the fear of being hit by
a lightning, we literally ran all the way down. We were relieved when we finally
reached the forest area even with the rain still falling heavily on us. Thanks
to the orange umbrella for keeping us dry.
Notes:
Unlike Mt. Batulao, there were no Buko vendors along the trail so bring with you ample of water for your liquid needs. Also, since not a single tree stands at the summit, have something to shade yourself from the sun.
