A Quick Dayhike to Buruwisan Falls

The New Year day slipped barely and I yearned for an adventure that early.  Exactly 10 years ago, we did a New Year’s Day climb and now, a January 2 hike would not be bad.  With a wide smile, I persuaded hubby for a quick hike...

At 130pm, the Buruwisan Falls marker hailed our way followed by the lined trees leading to Engr. Rodel’s compound.  With time so short before dusk, we trekked at once.  

Time check then was 145pm when we crossed the river to start our hike.

We reached the campsite at 315pm… An hour and a half of a muddy tramp, hmmm… not bad J

Don’t trash our future RECYCLE… the phrase largely printed in the first hut.

Memories flashed at once.  This was where my hunger for adventure started.  I imagined one of those climbs, a night filled with fireflies.  

The laughter, the fun, the fellowship, the friendship.  This camp has witnessed it all…

I descended to the waterfalls and found myself alone, in solitude with Buruwisan Falls.  In you I swore 20 years ago that I will visit more mountains, more waterfalls…

At 345pm we commenced our return trek.  The sight of another waterfalls a while ago lures for another trip so we inched closer for a clearer shot… One day soon, hope to finally meet up close.

We were back at the river at exactly 5pm.  Just in time before the sunlight fade out.   It was certainly a quick hike; a fast relief for the earlier quest bid.  Until next time.
