BUTUAN -- BISLIG -- DAVAO TRIP

This Butuan trip was one of my solo flights and my travel of 1-1/2 hour was consumed reading the magazine feature of Conquering Kinabalu, one of the mountains among my dream-climb list.

At Butuan City airport, “Welcome Delegates” banners, friendly usherettes and attendants greeted us, an indication that PICPA Butuan had prepared well for this event.  Thanks to the positive feedback of an acquaintance from PICPA Zamboanga who shared that PICPA Butuan are good in terms of event hosting.  It was one of the compelling reasons for attending this year’s event plus the fact that this will be my first at Butuan and the CARAGA region.

With that, I tweaked my itinerary with hubby coming along to make the most of CARAGA as follows.

Day 1-4 PICPA Convention and around Butuan – Agusan del Norte

Day 4-5 Travel to Bislig City and around Bislig – Surigao del Sur

Day 5-6 Travel to Davao City and around Davao – Davao Region

Butuan City as they pride – “In the beginning, there was no Philippines but there was Butuan” is known for Balangay or Balanghai Boats, the famous pre-historic native boat in Southeast Asia.  The City Government of Butuan envisions Butuan as the major trading, processing, commercial and service center in the CARAGA region.

Bislig City houses the famous Tinuy-an Falls – dubbed as the Niagara Falls and the widest waterfalls in the Philippines, a three tiered waterfalls with a height of about 55 meters and width of about 95 meters.  The City Government of Bislig envisions Bislig as a vibrant and livable city, a leading producer of agricultural and aqua-marine products, and an eco-tourism destination in Southern Philippines.

Davao City is the home of majestic Mt. Apo, the tallest mountain in the Philippines with an altitude of about 3,412 meters.  The City Government of Davao envisions being the premier socio-economic and tourism center in Mindanao.

The Butuan – Bislig – Davao Trip is another long road trip adventure like the MOUNTAIN PROVINCE | BANAUE – BATAD – SAGADA – BAGUIO TRIP and ILOCOS ROADTRIP.
